The desert was a cruel place. It was burning hot in the day but chillingly cold at night. It is also filled with dangers such as monsters and demons. However, this does not deter an odd band of travellers from continuing their journey to the west.

Their destination is the Leiyin Temple on Vulture Peak to retrieve the sacred sutras. The monk, Tripitaka was determined and willing to cross mountains and rivers in order to reach the temple. Along the way, he managed to acquire 3 apprentices who were willing to protect him on this journey to atone for their sins. Regardless of the numerous demons and monsters that try to block their path, the 4 of them are resolved to overcome all obstacles to retrieve the sutras and achieve their enlightenment.

In order to protect Tripitaka, the mischievous golden cudgel wielding Monkey King, the chubby Pig who is capable of performing 36 transformations and the logical Sandy who wields a magic weapon all worked together to defeat the demons and monsters during this long and arduous journey to the west.
